This is your weekly reminder that you can bag an RTX 4080 gaming laptop for less than $1,600 and still get it before Christmas-

Part of my job is to get out there, elbow deep into the various online retailers and see what goodies they have lurking in the recesses of their warehouses to bring you the best gaming laptop deals. And for the past few months, every time I do I’m kinda stunned that the RTX 4080-powered MSI Vector is still on sale for $1,600 at Newegg.

It’s hands-down the cheapest RTX 4080 gaming laptop you’ll find that isn’t open-box or isn’t hobbled in some catastrophically performance-castrating kind of way. And I keep looking for the catch, the one thing that can justify why it’s still on sale with $500 off the initial listing price.

I don’t think it’s anything to do with potential refreshes happening in the new year, with the RTX 40-series Super lineup only expected to be hitti…

Watch this person recycle a bottle by 3D printing a Raspberry Pi case-

3D printing is incredibly cool tech, but I’ve always been a bit bothered by all the plastic. Giving people the tools and power to create at home has led to amazing imaginative creations like this printed Cities: Skylines square, or these helpful adaptive controllers. But it still has the potential to encourage more plastic waste, and we don’t really need that as a global community.

This is why it’s always exciting to see people get into 3D printing with more sustainable materials. We’ve seen printers that can make amazing shapes with delicious chocolate, and have heard the promise of ceramics being printed with waste products. Now settle in to watch one thrifty crafter go from a plastic bottle to folding Raspberry Pi case right before your eyes.

Call of Duty is getting Shredder-

Earlier today the official Call of Duty Twitter account released a teaser video confirming Shredder for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2. Shredder is the big baddie in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series, which is not a cartoon many would associate with firearms. Indeed, I can’t remember a single instance of Shredder using a ballistic weapon, but why let that ruin a lucrative cross-promotion?

If it’s anything like previous celebrity Operators like Snoop Dogg, Rambo and John McClane, Shredder will come in a purchasable Operator Bundle, with his own voice lines and challenges—perhaps even some Shredder (or TMNT) themed cosmetics. If there are voice lines, who knows who’ll be doing them: Hoon Lee voiced Shredder in the most recent Rise of the Teena…

Valve developer shares video of an even earlier version of Deadlock, in which the player battles Half-Life 2 enemies with Left 4 Dead weapons-

Last Friday, Valve formally announced Deadlock, its new multiplayer shooter that blends third-person action with a MOBA structure. Deadlock’s road to its official reveal has been highly unusual, with Valve pretending the game didn’t exist for several months, all while inviting thousands of people to play it.

Indeed, even now Valve has acknowledged the cat’s escape from the bag, the weirdness hasn’t stopped. Deadlock’s Steam page remains intensely cryptic, despite the Internet being flooded with videos of the game in action. Moreover, in a move normally reserved for a decade or two after a game launches, one of Valve’s developers has revealed a super early prototype of Deadlock in action.

The video of this prototype was noticed by online Valve bloodhound Gabe Follower, who po…

Between that and the yellow languishing in my opening attempt that I thought I’d typed in, it didn’t take very long to solve Wordle today. Here’s hoping I’ll have another lucky finger slip tomorrow.

Hopefully I’ll be able to say something similar tomorrow too.
